The essentials

How can PII Purge support a subject access request?

PII Purge can help prepare PDFs and text for a subject access request by detecting and redacting personal information. It does not decide what you are entitled or required to disclose. Set appropriate instructions and review each result against the request before releasing documents.

  1. Identify the documents and the information your review needs to protect.

  2. Upload a supported PDF or paste text to redact detected personal information.

  3. Check both the redactions and remaining content before deciding what to disclose.

Built for your workflow

Less manual work. More control.

A practical review step

Detection can find names, contact details, addresses and other identifying information. Your review determines which details should be removed or retained.

No document retention

Submitted content is processed in memory. Operational records contain metadata such as file size and the number of items found, rather than the document itself.

Rebuilt PDF output

The redacted PDF contains page images with no original text layer, metadata or attachments. Check those page images for anything identifying that remains visible.

Context-aware detection

Know what gets removed.

These are the default categories. With an account and a card added, you can tailor the instructions to your workflow.

A few helpful answers

Frequently asked questions

Does redacting a document make it GDPR compliant?

Redaction alone does not establish compliance. PII Purge is a tool for preparing documents; your organisation must decide what should be disclosed and review the result in the context of its obligations.

Can I keep the requester's own data visible?

An account lets you provide custom instructions, such as keeping a named person's details. Detection is automated, so verify both what was removed and what remains before disclosure.

Is content sent to a third-party AI service?

The detection models run on Hexploits Cloud, infrastructure operated by Hexploits. Submitted document content is not retained or used to train models.
